I learnt the history of Egypt and its monuments from many sources. It remains that impressions by these great scholars have stuck in my mind: Ahmed Yousef, Brian Emery, Harry Smith, Harry James, Laszlo Kakosy, and Werner Kaiser

Ramses II King List From Abydos In The British Museum
قائمة الملوك من معبد رمسيس الثانى فى ابيدوس

This is not the famous Abydos King List at the temple of Seti, but it is still very important. In pencil I have added the possible missing royal names at the damaged parts of the list.

I recall when I lived in Alexandria in the early seventies and during short, but frequent, visits later, that I enjoyed his pleasant company, sense of humour and vast knowledge of present day Alexandria. Memories of walking through the archaeological sites, the Museum, the center of the city, and by the Eastern Harbour and dining at Elite, Tikka or Qadura are unforgettable رحمة الله على داود عبده داود

Rollsiegel, Piere De Taille and an Update on a King and Monument List of the Third Dynasty
مقالات كابلونى عن الاختام و لوير عن الاحجار و تجديد قوائم الملوك و الأثار للاسره الثالثه

I am honoured to contribute to Professor Làszló Kàkosy's Festschrift. His vast knowledge on so many Egyptological subjects, and fields connected with them, inspires great admiration, and I am very much indebted to his continued encouragement and help. Ten years have passed since I wrote Some Problems on the History of the Third Dynasty for my first doctorate in Budapest (1981), and eight years since it was published by the Archaeological Society of Alexandria (1983). I presented two general ideas in these studies.
